As an Intern you will join our team in New York for a 6 month period.
Our goal is that the program will enable the individual to follow a product/design from idea to final design, from previous experience with interns we know this goal is possible.
We are trying to give our interns more insight into the industry, revealing royalty contracts, manufactures, direct communication with the brands we work with so that they are prepared for this once they finish their studies.
The Intern will be assigned to relevant design projects from the beginning of the program and work very independently with these, following all the necessary steps to create a commercial viable product/design under guidance and direction from the team.
The Intern will be Communicating with manufactures and partners, and learning how to pitch a design idea to a potential client. Furthermore, you will get a deeper understanding and learn all aspects of how a small design studio works. And defiantly get a lot of practice in using relevant 3D programs.
The Intern will work on new interesting projects, as well as seeing some of the designs turn into prototypes and finished products.
Every Month there will be a day excursion; Philip Johnson's Glas House, Judd Foundation in SOHO, Dia:Beacon, Beaver Brook cabin community etc to get out of the studio and experience New York and about, this gives us the opportunity to make the experience so much more than working in an office.
Soren Rose Studio will reimburse the Intern for their Airplane ticket, VISA application, Embassy fees, entertainment, daily lunch and excursions during the stay. All other expenses will be carried by the Intern.
Please feel free to contact us for any further questions.
